Giant geoduck clams.
Geoducks are the world's largest burrowing clam and can weigh as
much as 10 pounds, living up to 160 years in that one burrow
in the Puget Sound, NW of US. Average we dig up is about 3 lbs.
and 5 pounders are not unusual. Called mi ru gai in Japanese
who love them as sa shi mi, Wa. geoducks are harvested by divers
and raised by aqua culture farmers and exported to Japan.
Retail price in Seattle is about $28 a pound, live with the
shells.

Sa shi mi lovers like my wife and Korean and Japanese people
here love it with wa sa bi as well as cho jang. I personally
do not like any raw fish. My wife claims it is the best sa shi mi, better than tuna, china rock fish and salmon.

Would you introduce any unique intersting item in your areas?
