1. To check if it is a mutually acceptable state

In the US, there are states that refuse mutual recognition, so make sure that the state in which the license was issued.

States which do mutual recognition: Maryland, Virginia, Washington, Massachusetts, Texas, Florida, Oregon, Michigan, Idaho, Alabama, West Virginia, Iowa, Colorado, Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Arizona, Louisiana

2. Obtain Apostille Certificate in the U.S.

The driver's license issued in the U.S. needs to be issued an Apostille in the U.S.

3. You have to visit Road Traffic Authority Driver’s License Examination Office in Korea.

Now, you can get your Korean driver's license if you prepare a copy of the Apostille certificate and other documents and apply for it at the Korea Road Traffic Authority Driver’s License Examination Office.

Required documents: U.S. Driver's License Apostille Certificate, U.S. Driver’s License, passport, Certificate of the Entry & Exit, Identification card, 3 ID pictures
