WHAT?

Often when planning to live elsewhere, we need to submit documents such as diplomatic documents, 

criminal records, or resumes. More often than not, these documents require an apostille, a form of authentication added to documents to allow them to be used in member countries of the Hague Convention, and are usually requested by foreign governments to assert that a document is genuine. It is sometimes known as FCO Apostille, as the FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) is the governmental body that issues them within the UK. Once an Apostille stamp is added to a document, it becomes valid for use in any country that is a member of the Hague Convention.

An apostilled documents, once stamped, never goes out of date. However, there are exceptional occasions, China. Keep in mind that if you are looking to apply for a job in China, your apostilled documents must have been issued within the last six months. This is why it is recommended to thoroughly check the requirements in all situations.
