requesting criminal record check as they need to extend period of staying in Korea. 

What is Criminal Record?

"Criminal Record" refers to looking up an identity or a criminal history.
 The information contained in the Criminal Record 

may vary between countries or jurisdictions within the country.
 In some cases, traffic crimes such as real speeding or 

drunk driving may be included, and it is limited to the actual convictions.
 Or it may include arrest, denial of prosecution, 

pending prosecution, and personal innocence.

When do you need criminal record?

People who had stayed in Vietnam more than 6 months have to get the criminal records.  

Criminal Record must be submitted as a required document in situations

 such as employment or immigration to another country, 

visa or passport issuance, financial transactions, and adoption.

To get criminal record?

As Vietnam is not using apostille,

attestation and embassy certification are necessary.
